6 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS YOU NEED STATBeauty
Temperatures have really been dropping here in Jersey so it was clearly time to pack up and head WEST! Arizona to be exact ;). Not sure about all of you, but traveling tends to throw me for a loop. The time changes, the lack of sleep, the anxiety induced over packing.
I’m totally the chick that uses 50+ beauty products and can never get her suitcase under 50 lbs.
Let me tell you, having back-up-outfits for the back-up-outfits gets costly.
With this trip to Phoenix, I tried to really narrow things down to just the essentials. Although being away from home for 5 nights is long as hell (prefer my own bed), I wanted to make sure I kept up with my simple beauty routine.
This week I wanted to share with you 6 basic, but essential, products to have on hand when you’re on the go.
Sending you love (+ Vitamin D) from sunny Arizona this week! You can grab my favorites below, xo.
Okay, keeping things real here, this is the BEST face lotion out there. I have used overly-expensive crap ($80+ kinds), prescription stuff from dermatologists, organic/home-made things, and the list goes on. But, Olay Complete will forever be my fav. If I am ever sleeping away from home, it comes with.
Not to mention, the price point is more than ideal ;).
I am creepily obsessed with this entire line of products. Since using them a few years back, I’ve never gone a day without them on my hair. Now, the one I always have in my travel bag is the healing oil spray.
Personally, I’m not a big hair-spray fan. Even the super light brands dry my scalp out and feel sticky (having psoriasis sucks ass). The oil spray is an excellent alternative, it smells like heaven and will leave your hair feeling light and silky.
With the amount of over processing many of us do to our locks with straighteners, curling irons, blow-dryers, and dyes this spray will keep it moisturized. Since dead ends just look like … balls.
I generally spray some in the palm of my hands after blow-drying and run it though my hair. Pretty much your hair will look instantly fresh AF!
If you don’t already own one, you’re living under a rock and can grab a 2 pack here :). Easiest thing on the planet to travel with and keep those lips looking full + shiny.
I’ve shared this one with y’all before but I’m going to share it again. Especially for traveling, this comes with me everywhere. It is my acne life-saver, so there’s NO WAY I’d board a plane without it.
There is nothing worse than having a pimple (or 5) crop up while you’re away from home, that’s why drying lotion will be your BFF.
Do you ever wake up in the morning after a not-so-great night’s sleep (or you’re just hungover as shit) and realize you look like the damn Crypt Keeper?! I’m talking those scary dark bags under your eyes that would lead people to believe you got into some kinda bar fight the night before. Yeah, I totally got you.
Although this is one of the more expensive products in my travel arsenal, rest assured, it’s worth the investment. One container will last you awhile and you apply it nightly under your eyes with a Q-tip.
After a few weeks you’ll start to see a difference in those creepy dark circles, I promise.
Also, especially when you’re travelling and your sleep schedule is out of whack, I highly recommend it … + lots of water.
Straight up, this stuff DOES work. You just need to be consistent with your application of it. The container is small, easy to transport, and you don’t need much so it will last you a hot minute.
I like to apply it to my forehead and smile lines :). Been using it for over a year and have to say, I’m a big fan. Even if you’re not seeing many wrinkles just yet, using retinol will PREVENT them from cropping up down the line! We all love prevention, obvi.
Hope you enjoyed these 6 & plan on making them your travel buddies ASAP.
And don’t forget to share your personal carry along fav.’s in the comments below (since my suitcase is already heavy as shit, why not toss in a few extra beauty products). Hugs!
